FAQs

What Is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide (Ozempic) is a medication that mimics the hormone glucagon - like peptide (GLP-1). It regulates appetite by the GLP-1 receptors in the brain that control hunger and satiety. This leads to feeling full and can reduce hunger. It slows the gastric emptying time, it may prolong the feeling of fullness, and reduce the amount of food consumed. Stimulates the pancreas to release insulin in response to rising blood glucose levels, and reduces the release of glucagon from the liver. Injection administered once a week.

What is the MIC B-12 program?

These are lipotrophic injections, they are a combination of vitamins and other compounds designed to promote fat metabolism, improve energy levels, and support weight loss efforts. MIC stands for Methionine, Inositol, and Choline + B12.

Methionine: Amino acid helps break down fats and prevents their accumulation in the liver and other tissues.

Inositol: Helps with the transportation of fats within the body.

Choline: Helps with fat metabolism and the prevention of fat accumulation in the liver.

Vitamin B12: essential nutrient that helps support energy production by aiding in metabolism of carbohydrates and fats.

These components works synergistically to enhance fat metabolism, energy levels, and overall metabolic efficiency.

Will this work for me? Will I lose weight?

This is an individualized question, and will require an assessment. Clinical trials have shown that these medication do lead to weight loss, but we do not guarantee you will loose weight. Just as joining the gym does not guarantee loosing weight. When combined with lifestyle modifications our patients have seen successful weight loss.

What is Tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) works through the dual action of of two hormones, glucagon- like peptide-1 (GLP-1) AND Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). Works similar to Semaglutide, and has an additional effect on another receptor GIP. Reduce glucagon secretion from the liver, lead to more stable blood glucose. Decrease appetite by interacting with GLP-1 and GIP receptors, promote feeling of fullness, may lead to reduced food intake. Slow donw the gastric emptying time may lead to feeling fuller longer. Clinical trials showed that Tirzepatide can lead to significant weight loss. Injection administered once a week.

Any Side Effects with Semaglutide or Tirzepatide?
